If you believe in equity of opportunity for women and girls - whether on campus, at work, or during a healthy and financially secure retirement, then AAUW Cobb County is for you. If you would like camaraderie, intellectual stimulation and company of women who make a difference, then AAUW Cobb County definitely is for you.
Our Cobb County branch has joined with the Atlanta and North Fulton branches to host an annual Bookfair held in late September or early October which brings in thousands of dollars used for local scholarships. We work all year to collect, sort and price these donated books at our location in Buckhead, dividing the proceeds of the sale according to the number of hours worked by members of each branch. This activity has been an opportunity to get to know members of other branches, to share in their activities, and to provide several scholarships each year. Check out the Bookfair here.
In addition to our monthly programs held at the Mansour Center in Marietta, we have several groups which provide opportunities for personal growth and social interaction, including a monthly Book Group, Roving Gourmet, a monthly dining out experience, and trips to cultural events.
